About the Role
The Senior IT Advisor is a key role responsible for aligning technology strategies with LNG Canada's business objectives. Reporting to the Venture IMIT Manager, this position focuses on business engagement, value creation, and the development of strategic technology roadmaps. The Senior IT Advisor will drive innovation to ensure that the technology landscape supports LNG Canada's long-term vision and growth.
This role is pivotal in identifying, realizing, and protecting value through IT initiatives. By ensuring that the broader LNG Canada IT organization and its external partnerships are well-versed in the company's business needs, the Senior IT Advisor helps to align IT strategy with the company's goals to deliver measurable bottom-line results. Acting as a bridge between business strategy and IT, this position identifies opportunities to transform processes, people, data, and technology for greater impact.
As a trusted business partner to asset operations, maintenance, and corporate functions, the Senior IT Advisor fosters strong relationships and cultivates a collaborative, One Team mindset. Through close collaboration within LNG Canada's IT ecosystem and engagement with external stakeholders, the Senior IT Advisor will operationalize the IT strategy, identify emerging trends, and promote innovative solutions.
As a member of the LNG Canada IT Leadership team, this role contributes significantly to shaping the culture of the IT organization. With LNG Canada developing the country's first large-scale LNG facility, this position offers a unique opportunity to influence the future of energy infrastructure by steering the technology landscape toward operational excellence and sustainable growth.

You will use your expertise to:
Strategic Planning and Technology Leadership: Collaborate with the Venture IMIT to define and execute a forward-looking technology strategy that aligns with LNG Canada's business objectives. Utilize insights from industry leaders to identify emerging trends and technologies that can drive business innovation and competitiveness. Lead strategic planning efforts to ensure technology initiatives integrate with the company's overall business strategy, focusing on long-term sustainability and growth.
Value Delivery and Business Alignment: Act as a strategic partner to business leaders, ensuring that technology investments are aligned with business priorities and deliver measurable value. Drive the co-creation of technology roadmaps in collaboration with business units, focusing on enabling them to achieve their strategic goals. Advocate for the business within the IT function, ensuring technology solutions are designed to meet the specific needs of the organization.
Stakeholder Engagement and Leadership: Build and maintain strong relationships with senior business leaders, serving as the primary liaison between IT and the business. Ensure clear communication of technology strategy and its impact on business outcomes to all stakeholders, fostering alignment and collaboration across the organization. Provide mentorship and guidance to IT teams, ensuring alignment with the strategic vision and fostering a high-performance culture.
Leadership in a Dynamic Environment: Champion a culture of diversity and inclusion, ensuring that IT initiatives reflect the values of LNG Canada. Navigate ambiguity with confidence, ensuring informed decisions are made promptly to support business needs. Demonstrate a personal commitment to Health, Safety, Security, and the Environment (HSSE) in all activities.

To be successful, you will have:
Bachelor's degree in information technology, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
A minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience in IT strategy, business engagement, or leadership roles within complex organizations.
At least 5 years in a senior leadership or advisory role, directly interfacing with executive management and driving strategic IT initiatives.
Experience within the energy sector or large-scale infrastructure projects is a significant advantage. In addition, a solid understanding of the energy industry, particularly in the LNG sector, is a preferred qualification for this role. A deep knowledge of core applications commonly used in the energy and LNG sectors is highly desirable.
Strategic Planning: Strong ability to drive and align strategic IT initiatives with business objectives.
Business Acumen: Ability to engage with senior business leaders and influence decision-making at the highest levels.
Innovation: Proven ability to identify and leverage new technologies to drive business transformation.
Communication: Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams.
Technical Proficiency: Broad understanding of IT systems, cloud technologies, cybersecurity practices, and application management, ideally in the energy or LNG sectors.
Energy Sector Knowledge: Experience within the energy sector, particularly with LNG, is a plus
Stakeholder Communication Skills: Proficiency in communicating effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates on application portfolio status. Ability to facilitate collaboration between IT and business units.
This role requires that you:
Be legally entitled to work in Canada (i.e., by way of Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work permit)
Periodic domestic travel is expected to Kitimat.
