Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyman truck and Trailer Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical repair and maintenance, specifically with trailers and related equipment. This role requires a hands-on approach to diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that all equipment is safe and operational. The Trailer Mechanic will work closely with customers to provide excellent service while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on trailers, including brakes, axles, and electrical systems.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as inspections, oil changes, and tire rotations.
- Utilize power tools and heavy equipment to complete repairs efficiently.
- Assemble and weld parts as necessary to ensure structural integrity of trailers.
- Read and interpret schematics to troubleshoot complex problems effectively.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs.
- Assist in heavy lifting tasks when necessary to move equipment or parts.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a mechanic, preferably with trailers or similar industrial equipment.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation is a plus.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including the ability to read schematics.
- Experience in welding and assembly techniques is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks as required by the job.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with clients.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license may be required for certain positions or tasks.
