We work on varied and challenging projects, from noise reduction in transit systems (We have over a hundred noise and vibration monitors to alert to issues across some of the biggest transit projects in the region) to world-class performance spaces for the Royal Conservatory of Music. 

Now we're looking for an individual to join us as a part time worker providing services as Monitor Watch Operator, and we are hoping our search ends with you. 

Overview of Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to provide services as Monitor Watch Operator, demonstrating a natural curiosity and interest in technical and scientific matters. The position will require reviewing, documenting, and responding to any noise or vibration alert notifications received from our fleet of over one hundred web connected construction noise and vibration monitoring systems.  Responsibilities may also include supporting and interfacing with Aercoustics' engineering team regarding any monitor system alerts and associated communications that may require additional investigation or coordination. 

This is a part-time position with up to 3 days of services to be provided per week. This is a fully remote role. 

Responsibilities

Alert Monitoring and Response: 

• Monitor alerts and notifications from our web-connected noise and vibration monitoring systems with consistent reliability.
• Review and log notification events promptly and with attention to detail.
• Take appropriate action when necessary, ensuring timely and effective responses.
• Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates and addressing concerns professionally.
• Ensure knowledge and context of sites is up to date based on the resources made available; include construction activities, monitor locations, and applying calculations appropriately based on this information.
• Complete "Flash Report" a summary report at the end of the day

Task Management: 

- Follow established procedures for repetitive tasks. 

- Meet deadlines consistently, showcasing reliability. 

- Triage and prioritize incoming tasks in a timely manner. 

- Ability to work independently with consistent punctuality. 

Communication Skills: 

- Demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills this is a must 

- Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless workflow. 

- Communicate effectively with clients. 

Customer Service: 

- Exhibit an aptitude for providing excellent customer service. 

- Address inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally. 

Technical Aptitude: 

- Display interest and curiosity in technical concepts. 

Consistency and Repeatability: 

- Adhere to established procedures consistently. 

- Demonstrate a high level of repeatability in task execution. 

- Produce work meeting required quality standards. 

Task Coordination: 

- Know when to escalate more complicated tasks to the designer/engineering staff. 

- Communicate effectively with relevant teams to ensure task resolution. 

Record Keeping: 

- Maintain interest in repetitive tasks and demonstrate continuous improvement. 

- Track and follow up on tasks awaiting input from internal or external contacts. 

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have: 

- High school diploma or equivalent. 

- Excellent communication skills. 

- Good attention to detail. 

- Consistent reliability, punctuality, and adherence to schedules. 

- Ability to work independently. 

- Interest in technical and scientific subjects. 

- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures. 

- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines consistently. 

- Capacity to escalate and communicate complex tasks appropriately. 

- Adept at data review, entry, and record-keeping. 

Compensation 

Fee of $24/ hour
