  • Be the guardian of our food, ensuring the highest standards of freshness, taste, and safety.
  • Shape the future by training and mentoring the budding chefs, passing on the legacy of impeccable culinary skills and knowledge.
  • Liaise effectively with all departments, ensuring our kitchen's rhythm matches the heartbeats of the entire store.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • A proven record as a Commis Chef or a similar role.
  • Experience in bustling, high-volume restaurants.
  • Mastery over various cooking techniques and an in-depth understanding of food preparation principles.
  • A palette that appreciates diverse cuisines.
  • An eye for detail – food presentation and quality is your forte.
  • Ability to juggle tasks with panache, ensuring quality isn't compromised.
  • An infectious positive attitude and superior interpersonal skills that can rally a team together.
  • A keen knowledge of safety policies and procedures, because safety first
  • Mathematical prowess to keep an eye on the store's financial health.

The Garnish: Minimum of 1 year of hands-on kitchen experience.

L'OCA Quality Market is an emerging specialty grocer and gourmet food retailer in Canada whose purpose is to "Spread the Love" by delivering a world-class food experience. Each location is comprised of a full artisanal market experience, including full-service restaurant(s), where traditional artisanal craftsmanship and service on the front end meets new world technology and innovation on the back end. A revolutionary purchasing and org structure, supported by custom technology, allows us to leverage efficiency across the business unit to drive scratch perishable production, massive prepared foods selection, full carcass meat programs, and world class service in a cost-effective format. There is also a special place in our hearts for quality local and Canadian products and we aim to deliver positive change to the food chain through a focus on local sourcing and private label partnerships. We are currently laying the groundwork for a national chain focused initially on western Canada. Our first location is 48k square feet, and located in Sherwood Park, Alberta.
