Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Tutor to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Mathematics and English up to Grade 12 and a commitment to helping students achieve their academic goals. This contract role requires availability on weekdays (Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM) and weekends (Saturday–Sunday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM).

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions tailored to the individual needs of students.
  • Support students with homework, test preparation, and skill development in Mathematics and English (Grades 1–12).
  • Create engaging lesson plans and use teaching strategies that suit different learning styles.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust approaches to ensure comprehension and retention.
  • Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages confidence and participation.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance and performance.

Qualifications

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) required.
  • 1+ years of tutoring or teaching experience (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of the Ontario curriculum for Math and English (Grades 6–12).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Experience working with youth in educational settings is an asset.
  • Comfort using technology for online tutoring sessions.
  • Passionate about education and supporting student success.

Job Details

  • Job Types: Part-time, Fixed-term contract
  • Contract Length: 6 months
  • Schedule:
  • Monday to Friday: 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM
  • Weekends: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (as needed)
  • Work Location: Hybrid remote (in-person tutoring in Brampton, ON L7A 0G2)
  • Ability to Commute/Relocate: Must reliably commute to Brampton or plan to relocate before starting work

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1 – 12 per week
