Senior Tax Associate

The tax professionals at our clients firm in Toronto, provide clients with effective tax advice and innovative planning to reduce their tax burden and enhance their company's financial performance. Their professional tax staff stays current on the latest changes impacting client businesses and deliver tax solutions that are practical yet creative. Reporting to the Tax Manager the Senior Tax Associate is responsible for leading and supporting a variety of engagements within the Tax team.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
Providing guidance/expertise and participating in the performance of tax review, analysis and planning, especially focusing on complex and/or specialized issues.
Assist in supporting business development activities within our Tax Group
Independently managing workflow and presenting completed work product to Managers/Partners on a timely basis.
Identifying and resolving tax issues.
Identifying and communicating trends and developments in tax which are relevant to the client.
Developing Junior Associate's tax knowledge (i.e. accounting and audit group) by encouraging individuals to think for themselves and take responsibility for their contributions to the team.
A successful candidate will have:
Enrollment in or completion of a CA/CPA designation.
2 - 5 years of progressive tax experience within a public accounting firm
Completion of the In-Depth Tax Course is an asset
Proven experience advising clients on tax issues as well as general business issues
Exceptional communication and relationship building skills while dealing with clients.
Proven project management and time management skills to organize, implement and execute projects
Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage changing client deadlines
