Responsibilities
- Operate 3-ton, 5-ton, 10-ton, and tractor-trailer trucks to transport goods
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles
- Ensure timely and secure delivery of cargo
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle service, and repair status
- Comply with all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Communicate effectively with shippers, managers, and customers
- Secure cargo properly to prevent damage
- Report incidents or accidents to the HD Truck Manager
- Keep vehicles clean, organized, and in good working condition
- Ensure delivery stores are properly locked and armed after drop-off
- Use the Checkmate App to report at designated times
- Follow health and safety protocols in warehouses and stores
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Goals and Expectations
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle interior
- Keep GPS active throughout the shift
- Carry and complete TDG forms when transporting Dangerous Goods
- Use appropriate tires and chains based on route conditions
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Valid Class 1 Manual Driver's License with a clean driving abstract
- Forklift driving experience required
- Experience with manual transmission
- TDG Certification
- Experience driving in adverse weather conditions
- Familiarity with BC and Alberta highways and trucking regulations
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to travel and drive long hours
- Strong understanding of health and safety standards
- Ability to lift items up to 50lbs and knowledge of workplace safety procedures and the ability to adhere to the Lordco Occupational Health and Safety program
- Organizational and multitasking skills
- Problem-solving ability and adaptability
