Job DetailsDescriptionJob DescriptionOntario Shores is seeking an individual with strong interpersonal skills and excellent initiative to assume the Dietary Aide. This position is responsible for performing the duties of operating the dishmachine/potmachine, working on the beltline, food portioning and working in other areas of the kitchen to provide food service to patients and visitors, batch sandwich assembly for patient, retail and catering services.*KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*Trayline assembly of patient traysPortion food items for patient trays following the production sheetsCleaning of soiled food carts including but not limited to patient trays, plates etcClean and sanitize work surfaces as required ie before any preparation commencesMove equipment and return to appropriate place to enable cleaning of all surfacesSetup and pick up of caterings as neededObtain supplies and replenish food items from storeroom and fridges as neededIdentify any safety issues with equipment or processes and report to management*Requirements*Completion of High School Diploma preferredFood Handlers Certification requiredExperience in a hospital or institutional kitchen requiredKnowledge of food preparation in a cook chill environment preferredSound knowledge of food safety regulations requiredExperience with batch cold preparation an assetKnowledge of relevant legislation i.e. WHMIS, Occupational Health and Safety Act and HAACP requirementsGood attendance record with ability to maintain sameExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsAble to work independently and as part of a teamExcellent initiative, effective time management skills, and attention to detailOntario Shores is dedicated to fostering equitable employment opportunities and encourages applications from all qualified individuals.
