The Dental Hygienist will collaborate closely with the dental team to ensure high-quality service and positive patient experiences.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Take and develop dental radiographs as needed
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and treatment plans
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures
- Maintain accurate patient records using Dentrix or similar dental management software
- Support pediatric patients and address their specific dental needs
- Manage patient inquiries with excellent customer service skills
- Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed in accordance with OSHA standards
- Assist with orthodontic procedures when necessary
- Maintain a clean and organized operatories and sterilize instruments appropriately
Qualifications
- Valid Dental Hygienist license in the state of practice
- Experience working in a dental office setting, preferably with pediatric patients
- Proficiency with Dentrix or similar dental management software
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations
- Experience in orthodontics, pediatrics, or general dentistry is desirable but not required
- Strong customer service skills with a compassionate approach to patient care
- Previous experience in dental assisting is advantageous but not mandatory
- Ability to work well within a team environment and maintain professionalism at all times
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $50.00-$58.00 per hour
Expected hours: 34.00 per week
