The Role
Our client, a well-established organization in the industrial equipment manufacturing sector, is seeking a Service Estimator to join their growing team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong mechanical or electrical knowledge who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Reporting to the Manager, the Service Estimator will be responsible for preparing detailed repair and upgrade quotations, coordinating with vendors and service teams, and ensuring projects are completed efficiently and accurately. Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed and accurate service and repair quotations based on inspection findings and service reports
  • Collaborate with service and technical managers to determine required parts, materials, and labour for complex projects
  • Communicate regularly with vendors to source parts and confirm pricing, timelines, and availability
  • Review technical drawings, historical project data, and vendor documentation to develop repair scopes
  • Manage multiple ongoing projects (up to 20 at once), ensuring estimates, timelines, and resources are aligned
  • Coordinate with internal teams for scheduling labour, equipment rentals, and project hand-offs
  • Maintain regular customer communication during the estimation process, ensuring transparency and clarity
  • Utilize internal ERP systems, vendor portals, and Microsoft Office tools to manage quotes, track progress, and support documentation
  • Ensure all safety protocols and company procedures are followed during planning and execution phases

Requirements

  • Previous experience in heavy industrial machinery, or related technical industries
  • Background in project estimation or project management
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, manuals, and work instructions
  • Strong mechanical or electrical aptitude, with hands-on knowledge of repair processes
  • Business acumen and experience dealing with B2B repairs or customer service
  • Knowledge of electrical motors, supply voltages, and magnetic brakes
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and familiarity with ERP systems and vendor portals
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholder relationships
