Responsibilities

  • Skillfully operate a range of heavy equipment including dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, cranes, and other machinery to perform tasks such as grading, digging, lifting, and moving materials.
  • Manage construction site activities by safely handling equipment like concrete mixers, front loader trucks, dump trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks, and tanker trucks.
  • Conduct routine inspections of machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with site supervisors and team members to execute project plans efficiently while adhering to safety protocols and environmental regulations.
  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of construction zones by positioning equipment correctly and preparing sites for subsequent phases.
  • Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, maintenance schedules, and operational logs for accountability and compliance purposes.
  • Support other construction activities by operating farm machinery or specialized vehicles as needed for specific project requirements.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues promptly to minimize downtime and coordinate repairs with maintenance teams when necessary.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, cranes, and similar machinery on active construction sites.
  • Mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance on heavy equipment.
  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with experience driving large vehicles including front loader trucks, dump trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks, tanker trucks, or farm machinery.
  • Familiarity with construction safety standards and protocols to ensure a secure work environment for all team members.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes and ability to follow detailed instructions accurately.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining focus on safety and productivity.
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors effectively. Nice-to-have Skills:
  • Experience working specifically with Caterpillar or similar heavy machinery brands.
  • Knowledge of concrete mixing operations or related site preparation tasks.
  • Prior experience operating specialized vehicles such as water trucks or tanker units in a construction setting.
