Job Description: Adult & Senior Watercolour Painting Facilitator

Location: Beaches Sandbox

Commitment: 2.5 hours per week (instructional time Thursdays, 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm)

Compensation: $ $100.00 per class (once per week, based on previous experience)

About the Role

Beaches Sandbox is seeking a creative and inspiring Adult & Senior Watercolour Painting Facilitator to lead weekly art sessions. This role is ideal for someone passionate about watercolour painting who enjoys fostering creativity, self-expression, and community connection among adults and seniors in a supportive and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate a 90-minute weekly art class for adults and seniors.
  • Teach and guide participants through various watercolour painting techniques.
  • Provide individual support to participants of varying skill levels, encouraging exploration and personal expression.
  • Create lesson plans and activities that are both structured and flexible to meet the diverse needs of the group.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and social atmosphere where participants feel encouraged to learn and create.
  • Communicate with Beaches Sandbox staff regarding class needs, attendance, and supply requirements.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated skill and experience in visual arts, with the ability to instruct across a variety of mediums.
  • Previous experience leading group art programs, workshops, or classes (experience with older adults is an asset).
  • Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills, with patience and adaptability to different learning styles.
  • Reliable, punctual, and organized.
  • Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check (required).

Pay: $40.00-$45.00 per hour
