Job Title: Seasonal Snow Removal LabourerReports to: Manager, Airfield Services Salary: $26.48 per hourTerm position starting ASAP - mid/late April 2025Closing Date: December 8, 2025The OpportunityReporting to the Manager, Airfield Services, the Seasonal Snow Removal Labourer will be clearing snow and ice from airside machinery, signage, pedestrian walkways and exits. This role assists in providing a safe environment for aircraft, the travelling public and cargo at our 24-hour operation. This seasonal role is to maintain the airside/groundside area during the winter season. The terms will be in effect from which may be extended by mutual consent based on operational requirements.Responsibilities include:Removal of snow and ice from Airside bridge machinery, light fixtures, signage, pedestrian walkways and exits using a shovel, snow blower and skid steersApplication of ice control products and gravel as appropriateOperation of snow blower and skid steer as requiredAssist with shop cleanup and vehicle maintenance tasksOperate airside vehicles within specified zonesPerform physical tasks including lifting and pushing up to 50 lbs, walking and standing for 70-80% of the workday, bending and stooping for 20-30% of workdayExposure to noise and vibration for 30-40% of the workday, and to environmental conditions such as snow, wind, rain, and cold temperatures for 50% of the workdaySelection Criteria include:Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalentValid Class 5 driver's license required (Class 3 with Air Brake endorsement is an asset) and clean driver's abstractAbility to obtain and maintain an Airport Vehicle Operator Permit "D/A" (AVOP)Ability to obtain and maintain a Restricted radio/telephone licenseAbility to obtain and maintain an Airport Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC)1-2 years' experience operating snow removal and ice control equipment considered an assetKnowledge or experience in airport operations is an assetStrong knowledge of safety practices and proceduresPhysically capable of manual labor including lifting up to 50 lbs, walking, shoveling snow and gravelAbility to work independently and as part of a team in varied environmental conditionsEffective oral and written communication, and strong interpersonal skillsProven attendance, reliability, and strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multitaskProficient with Microsoft Windows and Office, including basic report preparationExperience operating heavy-duty equipment is considered an assetWillingness to work shift work in a 24/7 operational environmentWork with usHighly competitive salaryFull Benefits package of Health, Dental & VisionDC Pension PlanHealthcare Spending Account to use on additional benefit expensesLifestyle Spending Account to use on Wellness expenses such as health and fitnessEmployee Assistance ProgramSupported Training & Development opportunitiesOpportunity to work with a high functioning team of professionals working on a diversified portfolioProud to be named one of Manitoba's Top Employers annually since 2011Condition of employment is the ability to obtain and maintain an Airport Restricted Area Identification Card.Winnipeg Airports Authority is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.
