Profile
The Technical Writer applies standard technical writing methods to support Continuing Airworthiness (CAW), Customer Support and Engineering Configuration Control with the incorporation of engineering and change requests for flight safety, technical discrepancies and modifications to the full complement of support manuals for the fleet.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Apply standard technical writing methods to support Engineering, Continuing Airworthiness (CAW) & Customer Support /Product Support (CSPS) with the incorporation of change requests for the fleet's product support manuals.
- Process Manual Change Requests (MCRs).
- Support the Technical Publications Team in production, distribution and archiving of all Product Service Manual Revisions and Temporary Revisions.
- Acquire knowledge of and follow the established Practices and Procedures during the execution of their tasks.
Qualifications
Diploma or certificate from a recognized technical college, or military aerospace training.Skills
Experience with aerospace technical writing (preferred).General knowledge of technical manual concepts and standard practices.Ability to understand and interpret aerospace engineering drawings, specifications and processes.Experience with desktop publishing, using industry standard tools such as Arbortext Editor, Adobe FrameMaker, Quicksilver, Pennant R4i, or equivalent software (preferred).Knowledge of various ATA and S1000D specifications for Technical Publications (preferred).Proficiency with English and grammar standards, with knowledge of Simplified Technical English (STE).Project Management skills and experience.Strong customer focus and proven relationship-building capabilities.Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.Why work at De Havilland?
