D&D Dixy Trucking is a small transportation company; going on 43+ years in business. With an established system, we operate in the four western provinces of Canada.

We're hiring a dependable, Class 1 Driver & Shop Assistant to support both our transportation and maintenance operations. This is a dual-role position ideal for someone who's mechanically inclined, well-spoken, and takes pride in their appearance and performance.

You'll be hauling a specialized 53' trailer that requires portable stair setup/takedowns. You'll also operate a 1-ton service truck for fluid deliveries, oil changes, and light maintenance. On occasion you may be required to haul 53' flat deck trailers. While not on the road you may assist in our shop with general fleet maintenance.

This role includes customer and public interactions, so clear English communication and a clean professions appearance are a must.

Job Requirements:

  • Class 1 driver's license
  • Clean driver abstract
  • 53' Van experience
  • 53' Flat & Step Deck experience
  • Electronic Log Knowledge
  • Written and Spoken English Language
  • Physically fit (ability to handle stair setups)

Job Expectations:

  • Operate a Class 1 tractor trailer
  • Operate a Class 5 one ton service truck
  • Maintain accurate electronic log books
  • Perform inspections and safety checks
  • Communicate with dispatch throughout the day
  • Communicate with shippers, receivers, customers, and the public
  • Provide light maintenance duties on site and in the shop
  • Possess mechanical knowledge with the willingness to learn
  • Possess a good attitude
  • Must have steel toed boots & PPE
