Summary
We are looking for a skilled and reliable Journeyman Plumber to join our team. Reporting directly to the Supervisor, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of plumbing tasks, including installation, repair, and maintenance of piping systems and plumbing fixtures. You'll also take a lead role in the preventative maintenance program for steam, heating, and medical gas systems. If you have experience in plumbing maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with safety and plumbing codes, we want to hear from you
What You BringEducation, Training and Experience
- Certificate of Apprenticeship or Trades Qualification Certificate as a journeyman Plumber, Class B level Gas Fitter's Licence with an electrical endorsement recognized by the Province of BC. Two years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Your Day to Day:

Review work requests and consult with user departments to clarify project requirements, specifications, and materials needed. Estimate project costs, including labor and materials, and provide recommendations.

Conduct preventative maintenance on plumbing systems by inspecting pipes and fixtures for repairs, adjustments, and ensuring compliance with codes. Perform tasks like bolting, soldering, cutting, threading, and assembling.

Install and repair plumbing systems using techniques such as bolting, soldering, and caulking.

Perform preventative maintenance on steam and heating systems, including maintaining, repairing, and replacing equipment such as pumps, fans, and valves. Extend steam piping systems by fabricating components and joining pipes using various methods. Test equipment for leaks and pressure levels.

Install, maintain, and repair medical gas lines, compressed air, natural gas lines, and controlled air systems following the British Columbia Gas Safety Code.

Inspect and test cross connection control devices (e.g., backflow assemblies, check valves, pressure vacuum breakers) using specialized equipment. Ensure repairs meet code and regulatory standards.

Maintain an inventory of supplies, tools, and equipment. Complete reports and records of repair and maintenance work and submit to the Leader.

Ensure compliance with plumbing codes, safety policies, and procedures. Direct others in maintaining safe work practices and report hazards or inefficiencies.

Maintain records, logbook entries, and conduct necessary tests and calculations.

Perform other related duties as required.
