The Laboratory Supervisor oversees daily lab operations and supports staff to ensure accurate, timely results. This role provides leadership, ensures compliance with safety and quality standards, and maintains efficient workflows and deadlines.

Responsibilities Ability to perform and mentor on all aspects of Quality Control and Standard Operating Procedures and provide technical assistance for the labPerform laboratory analysis and technician duties as necessaryResponsible for promoting responsible and ethical work practices in the laboratoryResponsible for staffing and progression of lab team including setting objectives, evaluating performanceMaintain all lab instrumentation; ensure all instrumentation is operationalEnsure proper supplies are organized and in stock for regular laboratory operationsEnsure laboratory turnaround times are being metAssist in root cause analysis and provides recommendation to Lab ManagementCommunicate lab daily activities and recommendation for improvement to lab managementProactively participate in SRED projects including development of research project ideas annually. Ensure proper completion, tracking and documentation of SRED projectsResponsible for health and safety in the laboratory. Ensure all SOPs are being followed, PPE is supplied and being used correctlyReport, review and authorize test results, as requiredOther duties as assignedQualifications Technical Diploma / degree in Science or equivalent experience required5+years hands on laboratory experience in a senior roleExperience with ICP-MS required. Experience with GC-MS, GC-FID considered an asset. Instrumentation operation and troubleshooting skills requiredAbility to problem solve, coach, organizeKnowledge of full laboratory processesAdvanced Computer Skills including MS Office and Agilent ChemstationTime management, multi-taking, communication skills, prioritization of workflowAbility to work in a positive manner in a fast paced environmentWho We Are:
