Market Application Developer – C#/.NET (Front / Mid Office)

Montreal (Hybrid) | Strategic Capital Markets Project

Context

ACENSI is strengthening its consulting teams in Québec as part of a large recruitment wave supporting major
Capital Markets / Investment Banking (CIB)
initiatives.

We are currently looking for a
Market Application Developer (C#/.NET OR Python/React)
to contribute to the evolution of critical
Front and Mid Office systems
within a major international investment banking organization (client confidential).

You will work closely with business stakeholders (Trading, Risk, Middle Office) and IT teams to deliver high-performance market applications.

Key Responsibilities

As a Market Application Developer, you will be responsible for:

Application Development (Front/Mid Office)

  • Designing and developing enhancements for market-facing applications
  • Building new features supporting trading workflows, booking, pricing, or reporting
  • Ensuring robustness and performance in a real-time financial environment

Business & IT Collaboration

  • Working directly with Front Office, Middle Office, and Risk teams
  • Translating business needs into technical solutions
  • Participating in functional discussions and solution design

System Modernization & Delivery

  • Contributing to modernization initiatives (microservices, cloud migration, API integration)
  • Participating in code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and agile delivery practices
  • Supporting releases and production deployments

Quality & Performance

  • Writing clean, maintainable, and testable code
  • Optimizing system performance and reliability
  • Ensuring compliance with banking security and regulatory constraints

Required Technical Skills

Must-have

  • Strong expertise in
    C# / .NET Framework / .NET Core OR Python / React
  • Experience developing enterprise-grade applications in critical environments
  • Solid knowledge of
    SQL
    (Oracle or SQL Server)
  • Familiarity with distributed systems, APIs, and messaging

Nice-to-have

  • Experience in
    Capital Markets / Investment Banking
    environments
  • Exposure to Front Office / Middle Office platforms
  • Messaging tools: Kafka, RabbitMQ, IBM MQ
  • Scripting skills (Python, PowerShell)
  • Understanding of CI/CD tools and DevOps culture

Candidate Profile

  • Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum
    4+ years
    of experience in software development
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-pressure financial environments
  • Fluent French, professional English required (international context)
