Role Overview

Sunnybrae Golf Club is seeking an experienced Food & Beverage Manager to oversee all front-of-house and beverage operations. This role is hospitality-driven, with guest experience as the top priority, while ensuring staff are well trained, operations are organized, and costs are controlled.

The Food & Beverage Manager works closely with the head chef, director of golf operations, and ownership to deliver consistent service for daily play, leagues, tournaments, and banquets.

Experience Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in food & beverage management
  • Golf course, club, or high-volume hospitality experience preferred
  • Strong staff leadership and organizational skills

Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Experience (Top Priority)

  • Overall responsibility for guest experience for members, public golfers, league players, and tournament and banquet guests
  • Maintain service standards across café, patio, bar, and banquet areas

Staffing & Leadership

  • Hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising all food and beverage staff
  • Create daily and weekly staff schedules based on: events, weather, league nights, tournament demand
  • Supervise daily staff performance across all service areas
  • Train staff on service standards and cost awareness

Beverage Operations & Inventory

  • Responsible for ordering all beverages, including: liquor, wine, beer, non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Implement and maintain complete inventory control of all beverages
  • Responsible for pricing of all beverage menus

Budgeting & Cost Control

  • Create a weekly food and beverage budget based on scheduled events
  • Train staff on cost control and waste reduction
  • Ensure food and beverage operations achieve break-even or better performance

Events, Tournaments & Banquets

  • Meet with tournament organizers and event hosts
  • Assist with food and beverage planning for tournaments and special events
  • Create function sheets outlining: menus, timelines, staffing levels, service expectations
  • Ensure staff are fully briefed prior to events

Clubhouse & Facility Oversight

  • Responsible for ordering all clubhouse supplies, including: bar supplies, food & beverage supplies, cleaning supplies
  • Supervise cleaning of the clubhouse and patio
  • Oversee daily opening and closing procedures
