Job Overview

As a Barista/Cashier at Mezzaluna Bakery, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional service to our customers while ensuring that they have an outstanding experience every time they visit. You will be responsible for preparing high-quality coffee, lattes, and specialty drinks, all while showcasing our bakery's signature offerings such as freshly baked croissants and artisanal breads. You will also manage the register, assist with inventory, and help maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Duties

• Customer Service:

Greet and serve customers with a friendly and professional demeanor, ensuring every guest feels welcome and valued. Deliver an exceptional customer experience by providing product recommendations and accommodating special requests.

• Coffee & Drink Preparation:

Prepare a variety of espresso-based drinks, specialty beverages, and teas with consistency, quality, and attention to detail. Latte art experience is a strong asset, adding a creative touch that enhances presentation and contributes to an exceptional customer experience.

• Bakery Service:

Assist customers with selecting freshly baked goods, including croissants, breads, and pastries. Ensure all products are well-presented and available for purchase. Share your knowledge about our baked goods to help guide customer choices.

• Cashiering & POS Operation:

Process customer transactions efficiently and accurately using our point-of-sale system. Handle payments, both cash and card, ensuring smooth and accurate transactions.

• Bakery Display & Maintenance:

Ensure that the bakery display is consistently stocked with fresh products. Monitor the quality and freshness of goods throughout the day, keeping everything visually appealing and ready for customers.

• Maintaining Cleanliness:

Uphold cleanliness and organization standards across the shop, including the counter, seating area, and bakery displays. Ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines at all times.

• Team Collaboration:

Work closely with the Mezzaluna team to ensure smooth operations during peak times, assisting with opening and closing duties, as well as helping with stock replenishment.

• Inventory Management:

Assist in managing inventory, ensuring all essential supplies are stocked and available to meet customer demand.

What We're Looking For:

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a barista in a coffee shop or bakery required; training will be provided. Must be confident in recommending new beverage combinations. Added bonus: being proficient in creating latte art to enhance visual appeal of drinks and elevate customer experience.
• 3+ years of customer service experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers and contribute to a welcoming atmosphere.
• Genuine passion for high-quality baked goods, specialty coffee, and outstanding customer service.
• Strong multitasking skills, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
