OR Assistant

Job Summary & Requirements
Under supervision of an Endoscopy (ENDO) Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN), the OR/ENDO Assistant works with the ENDO team to ensure optimal procedural flow and efficiency. The ENDO Assistant's responsibilities include but aren't limited to: patient positioning; room turnover including setting up and tearing down of Endoscopes and equipment between patients; preference card familiarity; stocking; stretcher and patient transfer; other duties and responsibilities as assigned .

Education:

• Grade 12 education essential
• Knowledge of medical terminology essential
• CSAO certification or equivalent an asset
• Operating room attendant course or equivalent an asset

Experience:

• Experience with aseptic technique and cleaning of sterile areas
• Ability and experience demonstrated through positive attendance, performance appraisals and work history
