Head Cook / Kitchen Supervisor

Location: Dogtooth Lake, near Kenora, Ontario

Employment Type: Seasonal Full-Time (May 1 – October 15, on-site)

About Luther Village:

Luther Village is a vibrant camp community located 25 minutes past Kenora, Ontario, on the beautiful shores of Dogtooth Lake, just 10 minutes beyond Rushing River Provincial Park. We offer Kids Camps, Family Camps, cabin rentals, a campground, and seasonal RV sites.

Position Overview:

The Head Cook / Kitchen Supervisor is a leadership position responsible for overseeing the kitchen operations and ensuring smooth meal service for our campers, staff, and rental groups. This role works closely with the executive team on menu planning, food ordering, and staff supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan menus and manage food ordering in collaboration with the executive director.
  • Prepare and cook meals, ensuring timely service.
  • Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and dining hall, following food safety standards and policies.
  • Supervise a team of 4–5 kitchen and housekeeping staff.
  • Assist staff with preparing desserts, snacks, and baked goods.
  • Oversee outdoor BBQs and other special events.
  • Provide food service for rental groups, staff, kids' camps, family camps, and other events.
  • Assist with housekeeping duties in rental cabins as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Food Handlers Certificate (Ontario) – willing to obtain if not already held.
  • Standard First Aid.
  • Valid driver's license.
