About This Opportunity
Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre is seeking LOCUM generalist obstetrician/gynecologist to support their team. The three-person group provides full spectrum OB/GYN practice including routine and high risk prenatal and intrapartum care, office and perioperative gynecology including open and minimally invasive surgery, and colposcopy.
The obstetric service delivers approximately 200 babies per year. On-call is 1:3. The group works collegially with Primary Care/Obs physicians who support the service. Maternal-Fetal Medicine and NICU services are available at the IWK Health Centre in Halifax.
Locum physicians provide coverage for specialists. Compensation includes a minimum daily income guarantee of $1,600 for specialists ($800 for half-day), with additional earnings if shadow billings exceed this amount.
Travel expenses, including kilometrage, per diems, accommodations (up to $300 per night), and airfare (up to $1,500), are reimbursed, along with travel time up to 10 hours per week. Licensing fees for CPSNS are covered, and locum physicians may claim Facility On Call fees under specific conditions.
Qualifications- All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
- Royal College of Canada certification or equivalent
