Various drills, relays and team-building activities are used to introduce students to the sport of curling. Job Description:
- Directly delivering basic curling instruction to elementary aged children in the schools approximately 2-4 weekdays between 8am-4pm
- Occasional equipment delivery/pickup to schools
Skills/Qualifications Required:
- Energetic and enthusiastic
- Strong verbal communication
- Ability to organize, control, and generate enthusiasm in a classroom of 20-30 students
- Ability to work independently
- Good organization and time management skills
Preferred Skills:
- Experience teaching, or coaching elementary aged children in a sport, camp, daycare, or school setting is an asset
- Knowledge of the sport of Curling is an asset, but not a requirement
Special Requirements:
- Access to a vehicle is a requirement for this position (on the days that you will be working)
- Willingness to travel to schools outside of home region is required (compensated for travel)
- Successful Completion of a Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector) is required prior to beginning work in schools
