ROLE

The Registered Technologist, CT and General X-ray is responsible for the safe, effective and efficient performance of a variety of procedures. The MRT will use independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative in the application of ionizing radiation. He/she will work together with the Senior Technologist, Interventional Radiology and Student Coordinator regarding the supervision and evaluation of student technologists

REQUIRED EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION(S)

• Graduate of an accredited Radiological Technology program
• Registered with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE(S)

• Previous experience as a Medical Radiation Technologist required
• Demonstrated ability to act quickly and effectively in emergency and critical situations.
• Able to maintain an effective working relationship with patients, physicians, hospital staff and the public
• Must be able to work independently
• Quality Control processes for all equipment related to X-Ray and CT
• Knowledge of all equipment and auxiliary products used in X-Ray and CT

DESIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE(S) & EDUCATION

• Registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists or Ontario Association of Medical Radiation Sciences recommended
• CT Imaging Certification or Equivalent an asset

• Clinical experience in the area of CT an asset

• Current CPR certification preferred
