Highway Straight Truck Driver Job Description
We are looking for enthusiastic, team players in Kentville, NS area. As a Highway Driver your job will be to make deliveries at different stops. We offer full time opportunities.
Company vehicle will be provided.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a straight truck and deliver goods to various destinations.
- Physical labor/handling of shipments weighing upwards of 50-75 lbs.
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical and safety issues before and after trips.
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations as well as with company policies and procedures
- Load and unload deliveries through a variety of mechanisms and delivery assistance devices.
- Use technology to map routes, deliver/pickup/track shipments and communicate universally.
- Ensure documents are delivered and entered accurately.
- Maintain route supply inventory to ensure prompt delivery to customers.
- Organize freight while doing pickups and deliveries.
- Perform all customer tasks in a polite, resourceful, and professional manner and overall excellent customer service throughout the process.
- Document and log work/ rest periods and miles spent driving
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Any other duties as required.
Basic Requirements:
- 1-2 years experience driving professionally preferred.
- Class 5 license with airbrakes and clean driving abstract required
- Ability to multitask and complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work.
- Reliable and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and make responsible decisions.
- Criminal Record Check Required
