Position Summary

Phoenix Glass is looking for a reliable and skilled
Industrial Mechanic
to support day-to-day maintenance and troubleshooting across our fabrication facility in
Delta, BC
. Our operation supports the production of
aluminum curtain wall systems, windows, and doors
, and this role is key to keeping equipment running safely and efficiently.

This position supports a wide range of manufacturing equipment, with an important focus on maintaining and troubleshooting
CNC machinery
and
silicone pumping/dispensing systems
. The successful candidate will also assist with basic
QA/QC checks
, helping ensure work meets specifications and quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on plant equipment and production machinery.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues to minimize downtime and support production schedules.
  • Support maintenance and reliability of key equipment including CNC machines, silicone pumps/dispensing systems, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment, motors, conveyors, rollers, gearboxes, and general shop equipment.
  • Replace or repair components such as bearings, belts, chains, hoses, seals, and fittings.
  • Assist with equipment installations, improvements, and shop upgrades.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service records, and completed work orders.
  • Perform routine in-process quality checks as required.
  • Measure and verify parts against drawings and specifications using standard measuring tools.
  • Identify defects or nonconforming work and report issues promptly.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to reduce downtime, rework, and scrap.
  • Follow all safety procedures including PPE requirements and lockout/tagout (LOTO), and maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in an industrial maintenance or mechanic role (manufacturing/fabrication environment preferred).
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
  • Experience working with production equipment such as pumps, pneumatics/hydraulics, and rotating equipment.
  • Comfortable supporting CNC equipment and silicone pump/dispensing systems (training can be provided depending on experience).
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Ability to read and follow manuals, drawings, and basic mechanical documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to support quality checks.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet in an active shop environment.
  • Electrical troubleshooting experience (sensors, switches, motors, basic wiring) is considered an asset, along with exposure to PLCs/automation and the ability to work alongside electricians or controls technicians when required.
  • Welding or fabrication experience, forklift/lift equipment certification, and familiarity with maintenance tracking systems (CMMS) are also considered assets.
