Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tile Setter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining tile surfaces in residential and commercial spaces. This role requires a strong understanding of flooring installation, tile laying techniques, and blueprint reading. The Tile Setter will work closely with project managers and other trades to ensure high-quality craftsmanship and timely project completion. Candidates with maintenance person experience, carpentry skills, and familiarity with construction tools will excel in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Measure and prepare surfaces for tile installation according to project specifications
  • Cut, shape, and lay tiles using hand tools and power tools with precision
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical instructions to ensure accurate installation
  • Mix and apply mortar, grout, and caulking to secure tiles and seal surfaces effectively
  • Ensure proper alignment, spacing, and leveling of tiles for a professional finish
  • Maintain a clean work area by removing debris and organizing tools and materials
  • Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards
  • Perform repairs or replacements of damaged tiles as needed

Experience

  • Proven experience in tile setting or flooring installation preferred
  • Familiarity with hand tools such as trowels, saws, levels, and tile cutters
  • Knowledge of construction practices related to tile laying, carpentry, and general maintenance person tasks
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately
  • Experience with caulking, grout application, and surface preparation is a plus
  • Prior work in construction or related fields demonstrating attention to detail and craftsmanship is desirable

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
