Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Athletics Coach to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for guiding and training athletes across various sports, with a particular focus on swimming. The Athletics Coach will play a vital role in developing athletic skills, encouraging sportsmanship, and ensuring a positive experience for all participants.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement training sessions tailored to different skill levels and age groups
  • Teach proper techniques and safety procedures related to various sports, especially swimming
  • Monitor athlete progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance performance
  • Organize and supervise practice drills, games, and competitions
  • Foster a positive team environment that emphasizes sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork
  • Ensure all activities adhere to safety standards and facility guidelines
  • Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and staff regarding schedules, progress, and upcoming events
  • Maintain equipment and ensure the cleanliness of training areas

Requirements

  • Proven experience in coaching or teaching sports, with a strong emphasis on swimming preferred
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to motivate athletes of all ages
  • Ability to develop engaging training programs that promote skill development and physical fitness
  • Knowledge of safety protocols related to athletic activities, especially aquatic safety for swimming instruction
  • Passion for sports and youth development with a positive attitude
  • Certification in CPR/First Aid is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to obtain relevant certifications is expected
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed
