Heavy Duty Equipment Technician The Heavy Duty Equipment Technician safely repairs, troubleshoots, adjusts, overhauls and maintains mobile heavy-duty equipment throughout the mine and milling operation. The Heavy Duty Equipment Technicians work collaboratively with the planning and team to deliver execution of the integrated plan and schedule. Key Responsibilities Area 1: Safely repairs, troubleshoots, adjusts, overhauls and maintains mobile heavy-duty equipment throughout the mine and milling operation Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required. Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools. Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications. Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment. Service attachments and working tools. Operate equipment safely. Ensure all equipment is maintained and used in accordance with company health and safety standards. Area 2: Operational excellence Commit to continuous learning and improvement. Continually seek to improve your skills as a heavy duty equipment technician. Watch for inefficiencies or problems. Ensure problems and inefficiencies are shared with others. Work collaboratively to troubleshoot and resolve problems. Consider risk along the five dimensions (throughput, time, quality, sustainability and cost) Provide accurate and consistent technical reporting. Being stake holder of the Cote Gold golden rules. Area 3: Work collaboratively with others to deliver operational reliability Coordinate with other team members on site to meet shift deliverables. Mentor and train new team members. Participate in and lend your expertise to the team. Communicate clearly and effectively using the tools provided. Ensure equipment logs and shift logs are accurate and complete. Ensure any deficiencies are communicated to the appropriate team members for follow up. Participate in multi-disciplinary teams to deliver on our commitment to our team, our communities, the environment, and our shareholders. Qualifications Minimum Requirements and Nice To Haves minimum qualifications, formal education, certifications or equivalentsCollege diploma in heavy equipment technician or another related field. Certificate of Qualification in Ontario is preferred. Completed apprenticeship is required. Work experience - Nature & Length A minimum of 5 years of related work experience. Previous experience in open pit mining is considered an asset. Additional qualifications - Competency requirements Proficiency in computer applications and maintenance softwares. A valid Ontario driver's license is required. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to work independently and in team settings. Ability to work effectively under pressure. Knowledge of Service Information System (SIS), Electronic Tehcnician (ET), Hydraulic Information System (HIS) for CAT equipment is an asset.
