BeshayMD Clinic is a solo‑practitioner clinic specializing in advanced cardiovascular risk assessment, preventive cardiology, clinical lipidology, chronic disease management and cardiovascular imaging. We are committed to evidence‑based care and long‑term cardiovascular risk reduction, with a strong focus on patient education.
Our main office is in Welland, Ontario, however we also have 2 satellite offices in Niagara Falls and St. Catharines, Ontario where we see patients and do nuclear cardiology services.
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated Physician Assistant (PA) to join our cardiovascular and lipidology practice. The PA will work collaboratively with our specialist to provide comprehensive care, from patient assessment through follow‑up.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient histories, physical examinations and cardiovascular risk assessments.
- Order cardiovascular diagnostic tests (e.g., ECG, stress tests, echocardiogram, nuclear stress testing, lipid panels, advanced cardiovascular biomarkers) and review incoming results. (Training is provided if needed).
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising physician.
- Monitor and manage chronic conditions (hypertension, dyslipidemia, coronary artery disease, heart failure, metabolic syndrome) and adjust medications as needed.
- Provide patient education on heart health, lifestyle modification and medication compliance.
- Assist with cardiovascular imaging procedures (e.g., stress testing).
- Document clinical encounters accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards using Accuro EMR.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and participate in quality‑improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a recognized Canadian physician Assistant Program.
- Certification by the Physician Assistant Certification Council of Canada (PACCC) or NCCPA.
- Registered with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) (PAs must be registered to use the protected title effective April 1, 2025).
- Professional liability insurance coverage meeting CPSO requirements.
- Current membership in good standing with the Canadian Association of Physician Assistants (CAPA).
- Experience in cardiology, internal medicine or chronic disease management is preferred.
- Proficiency in interpreting cardiac tests and managing cardiovascular conditions.
- Strong communication skills and a passion for patient education and preventive care.
- Ability to work independently and within a collaborative, fast‑paced clinic.
