Shipping/Receiving Specialist/Material Handler
to join our team in
Mirabel, Canada
.

Position Summary:
Completes initial verification for identification and damage on incoming/outgoing shipments. Processes and confirms receipt/shipping documentation for internal/external customers. Processes hazardous goods in accordance with DOT requirements. Validates Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for incoming/outgoing chemical shipments. Maintains inventory of shipping supplies.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Places parts in proper location after identifying and verifying part numbers
  • Uses a utility cart, identifies cartons by part number, uses a computer or laptop, cart, cycle counts product, hand scanner and PC.
  • Picking and filling orders using a label system/computer verification or hand scanner. Print and batch pick tickets and prepare warehouse pull and return.
  • Schedule, track and monitor both inbound and outbound shipments to ensure proper routing and storing of goods. Assist other departments as necessary in the research of transport and delivery inquiries.
  • Complete export documentation and shipping manifests, including documentation required for the transport of dangerous goods. Assure orders are prepared properly to follow through on quality initiatives and to avoid safety or regulatory issues.
  • Demonstrate general knowledge of governmental trade compliance and environmental regulations as they apply to the storage, handling and transportation of dangerous goods.
  • Arrange for the most cost-efficient means of moving product to its destination while meeting customer deadlines.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors to ensure compliance with purchase order requirements and the timely delivery of all products.
  • Participate and/or lead key projects to support continuous improvement philosophy.
  • Load and off-load material to/from delivery truck, sort reconcile, enter information into ERP system, prepare for counting process.
  • Pick-up and deliver material and/or documents within site.
  • Matches paperwork to box and prepares orders for billing/shipping.
  • Lift and carry cartons weighing up to 35 lbs. and manage cartons in excess of 35 lbs. utilizing available safety tools.
  • Performs other duties as needed.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • 4-6 years of related work experience.
  • Aiblity to lift and carry cartons weighing up to 35 lbs.
  • Ability to manage cartons in excess of 35 lbs. utilizing available safety tools.
  • Ability to fluently, read, write and speak English.
  • Warehouse experience.
  • Experience in operating material handling equipment.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Intermediate experience in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Current valid driver's license with clean diving recod (at sites where diriving forms part of the role).
  • Ability to stand and walk on cement floors for long periods of time throughout the workday (including the entirety of shift).
  • Must be detailed oriented, efficient, and able to work in a fast-paced atmosphere.
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada.
  • Individuals must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • High School Diploma / Equivalent, preferred
  • Knowledge of transportation, shipping laws and procedures
  • Experience in international shipping and distribution
  • Able to work in a cross functional team environment

Principales tâches et responsabilités du poste
:

  • Placer les pièces au bon endroit après avoir identifié et vérifié leurs numéros de référence.
  • Utiliser un chariot utilitaire, identifier les cartons par numéro de pièce, utiliser un ordinateur ou un ordinateur portable, un chariot, compter les produits, utiliser un scanner à main et un PC.
  • Préparer et traiter les commandes au moyen d'un système d'étiquetage/d'une vérification informatique ou d'un scanner à main. Imprimer et préparer les bons de prélèvement par lots, ainsi que les retraits et les retours d'entrepôt.
  • Planifier, faire le suivi et surveiller les envois entrants et sortants afin d'assurer un acheminement et un stockage adéquats des marchandises. Apporter un soutien aux autres services, au besoin, en ce qui a trait aux demandes de renseignements sur le transport et la livraison.
  • Remplir les documents relatifs à l'exportation et les manifestes d'expédition, y compris les documents requis pour le transport de marchandises dangereuses. S'assurer que les commandes sont préparées correctement afin de respecter les initiatives en matière de qualité et d'éviter tout problème lié à la sécurité ou à la réglementation.
  • Faire preuve d'une connaissance globale des réglementations gouvernementales en matière de conformité commerciale et d'environnement en ce qui a trait au stockage, à la manutention et au transport des marchandises dangereuses.
  • Mettre en place les moyens les plus rentables pour acheminer les produits vers leur destination tout en respectant les délais fixés par les clients.
  • Se coordonner avec les fournisseurs externes afin de garantir le respect des exigences relatives aux bons de commande et la livraison de tous les produits dans les délais impartis.
  • Participer à et/ou diriger des projets clés afin de soutenir la philosophie d'amélioration continue.
  • Charger et décharger le matériel dans/depuis le camion de livraison, trier, vérifier, saisir les informations dans l'ERP, préparer le processus de comptage.
  • Collecter et livrer du matériel et/ou des documents sur le site.
  • Faire correspondre les documents administratifs aux colis et préparer les commandes pour la facturation/l'expédition.
  • Soulever et déplacer des cartons pesant jusqu'à 16 kg (35 lbs) et manipuler des cartons de plus de 16 kg au moyen des outils de sécurité disponibles.
  • Effectuer d'autres tâches selon les besoins.

Qualifications de base (compétences et expérience requises) :

  • 4 à 6 ans d'expérience professionnelle pertinente.
  • Être en mesure de soulever et de transporter des cartons pesant jusqu'à 16 kg (35 lbs).
  • Être en mesure de manipuler des cartons pesant plus de 16 kg (35 lbs) au moyen des outils de sécurité disponibles.
  • Être en mesure de lire, d'écrire et de parler anglais couramment.
  • Expérience en entrepôt.
  • Expérience pratique des équipements de manutention.
  • Connaissances informatiques de base.
  • Maîtrise intermédiaire de Microsoft Excel, Word et Outlook.
  • Permis de conduire valide avec un dossier de conduite vierge (sur les sites où la conduite fait partie du poste).
  • Être en mesure de rester debout et de marcher sur des sols en ciment pendant des périodes prolongées tout au long de la journée de travail (y compris pendant toute la durée du quart de travail).
  • Faire preuve de minutie, d'efficacité et être capable de travailler dans un environnement dynamique.
  • Doit être légalement autorisé(e) à travailler au Canada.
