Job Description: Daycare Helper (Short-Term)

Location: Opus Daycare, Burnaby

Age Group: Under 36 months

Dates: Jan 2–Jan 14

Qualification: Responsible Adult / ECEA / ECE

Pay: $18–$20/hour, depending on certification and experience

Role Overview

We are looking for a friendly and reliable helper to support our daycare team during a short transition period with new children. This is a support role, working alongside the main educator.

Hours Needed:

  • Jan 2: 8:50–11:50
  • Jan 5: 9:00–12:00
  • Jan 6–7: 9:00–12:30
  • Jan 8–9: 9:00–2:00
  • Jan 12–14: 10:00–2:00

(Shifts may be covered by one person or split between helpers)

Main Duties

  • Help supervise children during play and routines
  • Assist with simple daily tasks (tidying, snack time, setting up activities)
  • Offer extra hands during transitions and busy moments
  • Help keep the space clean and organized
  • Follow basic safety and daycare guidelines

What We're Looking For

  • Responsible and dependable
  • Comfortable working with infants/toddlers
  • Able to follow direction and work as part of a team
  • Required certification (Responsible Adult / ECEA / ECE) and criminal record

Notes

  • Short-term helper role
  • Possibility to be added to our substitute list afterward
