Job Title: Mattress closer

Reporting to: Production Manager

Location: Woodbridge, Canada

Position Overview

The Mattress Closer is responsible for sewing and closing mattress panels, borders, and covers to company specifications using industrial sewing machines. This role ensures each mattress meets quality, safety, and production standards. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, experience with sewing equipment, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate industrial sewing machines to sew mattress panels, borders, and covers.
• Perform "closing" operations to attach tops and bottoms securely and accurately.
• Inspect materials for defects, damage, or inconsistencies before sewing.
• Follow production specifications, patterns, and quality standards.
• Maintain consistent stitching quality and ensure final product alignment.
• Work closely with other production team members to meet daily quotas.
• Perform routine machine checks and basic maintenance (threading, tension adjustment, cleaning).
• Report equipment issues or material shortages to the supervisor promptly.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
• Comply with all health, safety, and manufacturing regulations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating an industrial sewing machine (single-needle, overlock, or similar).
• Ability to follow patterns, measurements, and production instructions.
• Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Strong attention to detail and quality control.
• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 30–40 lbs as required.
