Contractor Desk Associate

Tatamagouche Home Hardware Building Centre is seeking a Contractor Desk Associate that can help us continue to provide a friendly and helpful retail experience to our customers, contractors, and community. Working as part of our energetic team, you will be responsible for prompt and courteous service to our customers, giving advice on tools or building materials necessary to complete their project.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting customers by providing product and construction knowledge
• Greeting customers and completing sales
• Creating special orders for non-stock building materials
• Keeping up to date with local building codes, product knowledge, and inventory levels
• Other duties as needed (loading, unloading, assisting with delivery and order logistics, etc.)
• Some heavy lifting required. Standing for extended periods of time, bending, kneeling.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of local building codes, construction, plumbing, electrical, or tools
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work a flexible schedule
• Forklift operator training/experience an asset

Hours:

• Full-time (4-5 days a week) and Part-Time opportunities available
• Within store hours (Winter hours are 7:30-5:00 Mon-Friday, 8:00-5:00 Saturday)
