About the Internship Opportunity with Climate
The Climate team is seeking an intern to drive operational excellence, strengthen data infrastructure, and support high-impact external engagements. In this role, you will work across three core pillars: Data Standardization, Event Coordination, and Program Strategy.
You will play a pivotal role in enhancing our ability to support climate ventures by streamlining investor-venture matchmaking and improving organizational decision-making. Beyond data, you will be on the ground coordinating our presence at Toronto Climate Week (June 2026) and helping to codify the "Mission from MaRS" model into a scalable playbook for future programs. This role offers the opportunity to build a strong professional network while creating tangible assets that will shape how MaRS supports the cleantech portfolio for years to come.
Major tasks the Intern will undertake:
In this role, you will drive operational excellence for the Climate team by modernizing data infrastructure, coordinating high-impact ecosystem events, and developing scalable frameworks for future programming. Specifically, you will:

- Modernize Venture Tagging Logic: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, Benchmarking & Insights, Member Experience) to update climate venture tagging in Salesforce. You will implement Sightline's taxonomy to ensure data is accessible and standardized across the organization.
- Coordinate Toronto Climate Week: Manage logistics, scheduling, and communications for our participation in Toronto Climate Week. This includes organizing 1–3 proprietary Climate team events and supporting logistics for ecosystem partner events.
- Define Success Metrics: Develop a comprehensive framework and set of long-term success metrics to ensure consistency in impact tracking across our various climate missions.
- Create the "Mission from MaRS" Playbook: Build upon foundational work to produce a polished, accessible climate programming playbook. You will format this resource to be easily replicable, ensuring future teams can scale the program efficiently.
