The Communications & Community Impact Summer Student supports our Community & Corporate Investment team in delivering employee engagement and community investment initiatives. You'll help plan and execute internal employee events and community sponsorship events, coordinate employee giving and volunteer programs (using our Benevity platform), create content to promote community initiatives to staff, and track our donation and sponsorship activities. This role offers hands-on experience in event coordination, communications, and community relations within ENMAX. 

This position is part of ENMAX's 16-week Summer Student Program ENMAX invests in future talent by providing real project experience and mentorship. Applicants must be enrolled full-time in a relevant post-secondary program and returning to school after the summer term. 

Major Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with planning and logistics for internal employee events and community sponsorship events, ensuring they run smoothly and align with ENMAX's brand and values 

  • Coordinate employee giving and volunteer programs, including setting up volunteer challenges and monitoring participation via our volunteer management platform 

  • Create and publish engaging content on internal channels (e.g., intranet, newsletters) to inform and inspire employees about community initiatives and volunteering opportunities 

  • Contribute to storytelling and content development that highlights ENMAX's community programs and sponsorships 

  • Track, analyze, and report on community investment activities (such as volunteer hours, donation amounts, and sponsorship outcomes) to measure impact and inform decision-making 

  • Provide administrative support for community investment processes, including processing donation requests, sponsorship payments, invoices, and maintaining organized records 

Education Required: 

  • Currently enrolled in a Communications, Public Relations, Business, or related program and returning to full-time studies following the work term. 

 Qualifications & Experience: 

  • Strong communication skills, both written (for creating content and reports) and verbal (for planning and networking with stakeholders) 

  • Basic project or event coordination skills, with an ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines 

  • Experience with data tracking or simple analysis (for example, handling volunteer or donation data) 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation and reporting 

  • A passion for community engagement and an ability to work well in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

Salary: Administrator Level B 

Step 1 – $24.82 / hour based on current CUPE Collective Agreement rates 

Location: This role is part of our hybrid work model, with office workspace at ENMAX Place (141 – 50 Avenue SE, Calgary, AB). You will work from home on Mondays and Fridays, and in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
