About the Role:

The Vice President, Pension Solutions Business Strategy serves as a strategic partner, supporting operational excellence, alignment and accountability across the Pension Solutions department. This role will drive strategic initiatives and projects, optimize processes, and ensure effective cross-functional collaboration across the team.

As The Newest Member Of Our Team, You'll:
 

Strategic Alignment, Planning and Execution

  • Partner with the Chief Strategy Officer and Pension Solutions leadership team to drive the Pension Solutions strategy and develop the operating plan.
  • Translate organizational goals into operational objectives with clear ownership and accountability, ensuring execution through project management, communication and tracking deliverables
  • Support monthly and quarterly business reviews, sales forecasting and pipeline management.
  • Foster sales and team leadership behaviors that reinforce CAAT's core values of integrity, teamwork and impact.

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee reporting cadence, dashboards and key initiative follow up.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and implement scalable processes and tools to improve productivity and forecasting.

Leadership Enablement

  • Partner with leaders to align departmental performance goals with overall strategy.
  • Encourage a culture of feedback, recognition, and professional growth across all teams.
  • Support the development of competency models in collaboration with HRBP and Learning & Development. Including training, mentorship, development initiatives and feedback/coaching conversations.
  • Support leadership readiness across critical roles within Pension Solutions.
  • Support strategic initiatives that strengthen team cohesion, engagement, and inclusion.
  • Execute and support Growth plan initiatives, BAU activity, and business plan projects across Pension Solutions.
  • Maintain visibility into team health and engagement, using insights to shape actions that reinforce culture and performance.

Key Growth Initiatives & Technology Integration

  • Oversee the prioritization, coordination, and delivery of key growth initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and capacity.
  • Develop prioritization frameworks to support balanced workload distribution and capacity management.
  • Assess and improve existing processes to reduce inefficiency and enhance delivery speed.
  • Champion technology adoption through communication and change management support.
  • Serve as a liaison between business strategy and People Strategy, ensuring that process and data enable efficiency and insight.

People Leadership

  • Lead and mentor a team, fostering skill development with strategic planning, transformation initiatives, and cross-function project delivery.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.

To Succeed, You Bring:

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • Master's degree or certification in Project Management (PMP) is considered an asset.
  • Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in business strategy, finance, or leadership roles, within financial services, insurance, or pension/retirement sectors.
  • At least 5 years in a senior leadership or project management capacity.
  • Proven leadership and coaching ability, with a track record of building high-performing teams.
  • Direct experience with strategic planning, transformation initiatives, and cross-functional project delivery.
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry and of employer sponsored retirement and savings plans (i.e., DB, DC, Group RRSP, DPSPs, Group TFSAs), including an understanding of the retirement landscape across Canada.
  • A proven ability to translate strategy into operating plans, governance structures, and measurable outcomes.
  • Strong project and priority management capabilities, including the ability to integrate technology and data into decision-making and forecasting.
  • Change-leadership skill with the ability to guide teams through growth and transformation with empathy and clarity.
  • Ability to navigate conflict with diplomacy, fairness, and discretion.
  • Outstanding communication, relationship management, and stakeholder-alignment skills across all levels.
  • Analytical and data-informed thinking, with a focus on outcomes, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Adaptability, resilience, and composure in fast-moving or evolving environments.
