Quality Management System (QMS) Consultant

6 Month Contract

The Quality Management System (QMS) Consultant is responsible for revising and maintaining ISO-compliant quality management systems. This role ensures that all processes, documentation, and practices meet the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 and drive continual improvement across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement Changes and maintain QMS:
    Establish and continually improve quality management systems, including process mapping, documentation, and compliance with ISO 9001:2015.
  • ISO Documentation:
    Review, and update manuals, procedures, and policies. Ensure all documents are controlled, changes are tracked, and obsolete versions are removed.
  • Work Instructions & Job Descriptions:
    Job descriptions at each level to be developed in alignment with with Work Instructions.
  • Quality Policy & Objectives:
    Collaborate with leadership to enhance quality policies and objectives that reflect the organization's mission and drive engagement.
  • Risk Management:
    Identify risks, ensure they are recorded in the risk register, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Training & Cross-Training:
    Build or revise cross-training policies and deliver training to staff to ensure competence in quality procedures.
  • Process Improvement:
    Facilitate continual improvement initiatives, including FMEA, control plans, and corrective actions.
  • Internal Audits:
    Plan and conduct internal audits to verify compliance and effectiveness of the QMS.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    Work with all departments, external consultants, and clients to ensure quality standards are understood and met.
  • Reporting:
    Provide regular reports on QMS performance, audit findings, and improvement actions to management.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience:
    Minimum 2 years in quality management, with direct experience implementing or consulting on ISO 9001 systems.
  • Experience:
    Preference will be given to those with manufacturing experience.
  • Certifications:
    ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or similar certification is highly desirable.
  • Skills:
    Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills; ability to train and motivate teams; proficiency in risk assessment and process improvement methodologies.
