Can-Traffic Services is seeking an experienced and motivated Traffic Signal Construction Supervisor / Foreman to join our Construction department in Sherwood Park. This role is vital in coordinating the installation, maintenance, and repair of traffic signal systems, pedestrian crossovers, streetlighting, and other traffic electrical devices.
Working closely with Superintendents, you will ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget, while providing leadership, mentorship, and support to field crews of 2–4 team members. You will play a key part in delivering traffic infrastructure projects that improve community safety and efficiency.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinate, monitor, and execute construction plans and schedules to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective project completion.
- Supervise and work alongside crews of 2–5 employees installing and maintaining traffic signals, streetlights, signage, and related systems.
- Provide accountable on-site leadership, promoting safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Mentor, train, and support team members to build strong, skilled crews.
- Ensure efficient use of labour, materials, and equipment; address field issues as they arise.
- Review drawings and specifications for constructability and compliance.
- Track project progress, costs, and reporting requirements.
- Maintain effective communication with management, subcontractors, and clients.
- Support incident investigations and uphold company safety policies.
- Maintain clean, organized, and compliant work sites.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Physically capable of performing fieldwork in varying weather conditions.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and out-of-town assignments.
Qualifications
- Journeyman Electrician with construction-related experience, including supervisory or team lead experience.
- Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline is an asset.
- Valid Alberta Class 3 driver's license with Air Brake (Q) endorsement; Class 5Q acceptable.
- Leadership in Safety Excellence (LSE) certification and/or Project Management Certificate considered assets.
