Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Door Hardware Installer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of door hardware systems across commercial and residential projects. Your expertise will ensure that doors are secure, functional, and aesthetically aligned with project specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction sites, utilizing your technical skills to deliver high-quality results efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

  • Install, adjust, and repair door hardware including locks, handles, hinges, and electronic access systems using hand tools and power tools.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute installation plans.
  • Perform glass installation, metal stud framing, trim carpentry, and fixture installation as required for door assemblies.
  • Conduct welding and fabrication tasks to modify or create custom hardware components when necessary.
  • Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues with door frames, lock mechanisms, and electronic access controls.
  • Ensure proper caulking, sealing, and finishing around installed hardware for durability and aesthetic appeal.
  • Heavy lifting of doors, hardware components, and related materials safely on construction sites while following safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with project managers, electricians, carpenters, locksmiths, and other trades to coordinate installation activities seamlessly.
  • Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris responsibly.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and construction site regulations to promote a safe working environment.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in door hanging, hardware installation, or related construction roles.
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools such as screwdrivers, drills, hammers, and wrenches; familiarity with power tools is essential.
  • Knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings for accurate installations.
  • Experience with glass installation, metal framing, trim carpentry, fixture setup, and locksmithing is highly desirable.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during installation tasks.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with understanding of electrical systems related to electronic locks or access controls.
  • Construction site experience with a focus on remodeling or new build projects preferred.
  • Basic welding skills and fabrication knowledge are advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt quickly on-site.
  • Valid safety certifications such as OSHA training are preferred but not required.
