Job Summary:
We are looking to hire a skilled bench carpenter with knowledge of various carpentry techniques. You will be responsible for reading blueprint drawings and constructing molds for precast concrete panels. Other duties will include, cutting, and measuring materials according to a blueprint requirement.
A successful applicant should be hardworking, reliable, and have good communication and organizational skills. You must have completed an apprenticeship in carpentry or have equivalent experience in the field.
Responsibilities will be as follows, but not limited to:
· Fabricate and assemble wooden forms, molds, and jigs used in the production of precast concrete panels.
· Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and production specifications to ensure accurate construction of molds.
· Measure, cut, shape, and prepare materials using hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery.
· Perform minor repairs, adjustments, and modifications to forms to allow for repeated use and precise panel production.
· Ensure all forms meet dimensional tolerances, quality standards, and safety requirements.
· Assist in planning and layout of molds and fixtures to optimize production workflow.
· Collaborate with production teams to meet daily casting schedules and deadlines.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with health and safety regulations.
· Conduct pre-use inspections of tools, equipment, and forms to ensure proper function and safety.
· Document completed work and communicate progress, issues, or concerns to supervisors and quality control personnel.
· Support troubleshooting of form-related issues during casting to minimize production delays.
· Evaluate quality of woodwork and materials to ensure compliance with design specifications.
· Operate woodworking machinery, hand tools, and other equipment safely and efficiently.
· Assist supervisors in the setup, adjustment, and maintenance of formwork for precast panel production.
· Demonstrate physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move materials, and perform repetitive carpentry tasks.
Job Requirements:
- Completion of a recognized apprenticeship for carpentry.
- Additional certification may be required.
- Good communication skills.
- Physically fit with good hand-eye coordination.
- Knowledge of mathematics.
