Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently from Essex to Brampton and back most evenings during the week. This role requires a strong understanding of commercial driving regulations, excellent navigation skills, the ability to operate heavy equipment, and able to call for a professional to make repairs, if needed and to communicate the issue effectively . This run starts in Essex, Ontario and runs to Brampton, Ontario, on average 3 days a week.

Duties

  • Operate trucks to transport freight in a safe and timely manner.
  • Work through the evenings (start times each night at 7pm, working through the night for a total average of 11 hours a day)
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • contact after hours repairs, if needed, using the after hours list provided
  • contact after hours staff at customer in Brampton, if issues arise when picking up trailer
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel usage, and any incidents that occur during transport.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while on the road.
  • Be able to identify defects and contact proper repair facilities as needed while on the road.

Qualifications

  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) is required.
  • At least one year of AZ driving experience
  • A clean driving record.
  • Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in operating heavy equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform minor automotive repairs.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina to handle long hours on the road.
