We are seeking a senior full-stack developer with experience in healthcare or regulated systems to help modernize and extend a production scheduling and access platform that operates at real clinical scale.

The system was originally designed to support outpatient medical services and has been deployed across multiple organizations with high patient volumes, strict uptime requirements, and privacy constraints. We are now evolving the platform into a more flexible, industry-agnostic access layer while preserving the rigor required for healthcare environments.

This role sits at the intersection of healthcare workflows, system architecture, and platform design.

What You'll Work On

  • Re-architecting an existing healthcare scheduling platform for broader, multi-industry applicability
  • Designing modular workflows that can support:
  • Outpatient clinical services
  • Diagnostic and imaging workflows
  • Walk-in, waitlist, and triage-adjacent flows
  • Non-healthcare booking and queueing use cases
  • Building and maintaining APIs that integrate with:
  • EMRs / EHR-adjacent systems
  • Clinical admin tools and internal scheduling systems
  • Third-party analytics, reporting, and notification services
  • Improving system scalability across multi-site, multi-organization environments
  • Maintaining privacy-by-design principles (minimal PHI, separation of concerns, auditability)
  • Collaborating with product and operations to translate real clinical constraints into technical architecture

Required Experience

  • 5+ years building and maintaining production full-stack applications
  • Strong experience with modern web stacks (e.g., React/Vue + , Python, or similar)
  • Experience designing RESTful APIs used by external systems
  • Experience with relational databases and schema evolution in live systems
  • Demonstrated experience working on platforms with:
  • High availability requirements
  • Real user throughput
  • Operational and compliance constraints

Healthcare / Regulated Systems Experience (Strong Preference)

  • Experience working with or alongside:
  • EMRs / EHRs
  • Clinical scheduling systems
  • Diagnostic, lab, imaging, or outpatient workflows
  • Familiarity with healthcare concepts such as:
  • Appointment types vs. clinical services
  • Site-based capacity and staffing constraints
  • Walk-in vs. scheduled patient flows
  • Cross-organization data boundaries
  • Understanding of healthcare privacy and compliance principles (e.g., PHIPA, PIPEDA, HIPAA-adjacent design), even if you were not directly responsible for compliance

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $61,329.43-$97,000.00 per year
