Business Segment Manager

Sales Manager

What would be your main responsibilities as a Sales Manager?:

  • Ensure the team's performance aligns with the Food & Nutrition Group and Corporate Vision by setting and achieving sales team results
  • Accountable for achieving all sales, GM$ and GM% targets for the assigned territory while working with the Group to meet business cash flow objectives, and collaborating with the Credit Manager to minimize bad dept risk and meet accounts payable targets
  • Lead and manage the sales team to achieve commercial performance and people management goals aligned with Quadra's and the business group's mission and vision
  • Monitor the output, opportunity pipeline and sales performance of the sales team to ensure that the team is acting with the necessary rigor to achieve financial objectives on a continued basis
  • Foster employee engagement and promote close collaboration between the sales team and other internal and external teams within the business group and company
  • In collaboration with the Business Segment Manager, responsible for the appropriate resourcing of the sales team to ensure effective and aligned customer account coverage in line with agreed corporate and Group guidelines
  • Participate in recruitment efforts in partnership with the Group leadership and HR, selecting high-performing individuals
  • Support the Marketing team(s) through direct and sustained involvement with their Suppliers that have a focus on the assigned portfolio to ensure we deliver for current and future supplier partner's expectations
  • Review customer contracts in collaboration with the Corporate Risk group, providing recommendations for execution to the Business Segment Manager, Director or higher-level of execution authority
  • Actively lead and participate in related industry events and associations with a focus on networking, talent development and understanding market dynamics
  • Leverage digital marketing tools to support strategic growth including Pardot campaigns, educational platforms, website content, future portals, and other digital needs
  • Champion administrative and support services, including, CSR, Logistics and Operations
  • Manage sales expenses effectively and ensure the team spends wisely and within budget
  • Advocate for and promote Quadra's Core Values throughout all business activities

What experience and skills is needed to have success in this position ?:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Business or Chemistry related field
  • A minimum of 10 years in Sales (or related commercial role) with a minimum of 3 years of proven experience in direct people management, in the Food Industry
  • Will be considered a strong asset for this role:

  • Experience in the Savoury industry in Canada including market and technical knowledge

  • Established network in the industry
  • Fluently bilingual (English/French)

  • Expertise in coaching, leadership and fostering motivation and inspiration within teams

  • Strong project management, negotiation and mediation capabilities
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills
  • Highly driven with strong business acumen and a solid understanding of commercial dynamics
  • Advanced proficiency in computer software, including Excel, PowerPoint, MS Office 365 Suite, Power BI and a CRM such as Salesforce
  • Demonstrates creativity, innovation and proven ability to think strategically
  • Strong self and time management skills, able to balance competing priorities, complex situations and tight deadlines
  • Excellent listening skills, empathetic, and capable of responding with urgency when necessary
  • Strong analytical skills, able to distill and can synthesize a lot of market information into a strategic or tactical thrust
  • Valid passport and driver's license
  • Willingness and availability to travel for at least 30% of working time; including some overnight

Compensation Information
:
The annual base salary for this position is expected to range between $101,175.00 and $178, Please note that this base salary range is provided for reference purposes only. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.

Base salary represents just one component of our overall compensation package. This role is also eligible for a generous incentive program and comprehensive benefits. Quadra's salary ranges are benchmarked against the market and determined by role and level. Final base salary will be aligned with the selected candidate's qualifications, skill set, competencies, and work location.
