·      Issue and maintain POs, including blanket orders and spot buys; ensure timely updates to changes, cancellations, backorders, and receiving discrepancies.

·      Track purchase orders end-to-end, expedite as needed, and communicate status, delays, and risks to stakeholders.

Outsourcing / Subcontract Management

·      Outsource jobs and services as required (e.g., heat treat, plating, grinding, EDM, specialty machining, welding, inspection).

·      Enforce the approval process for all unplanned outsourcing and document scope, justification, and authorizations prior to commitment.

·      Coordinate timelines and technical requirements with suppliers and internal teams to ensure outsourced work meets schedule and quality expectations.

·      Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring vendors meet performance expectations for quality, timeliness, responsiveness, and cost.

·      Research, qualify, and develop new suppliers to compare pricing, service, and capability; maintain supplier approval and onboarding requirements as applicable.

·      Negotiate contracts and purchasing terms with suppliers to support supplier selection and supply chain solutions (pricing, lead times, warranties, payment terms, freight/Incoterms, etc.).

·      Conduct supplier performance reviews, support corrective actions, and maintain a focused supplier base aligned with operational and program needs.

·      Travel to supplier locations when required for sourcing reviews, audits, performance concerns, or launch readiness.

Inventory, Shop/MRO & Cross-Functional Coordination

·      Purchase shop supplies, tooling consumables, and maintenance/MRO items to support production uptime and facility needs.

·      Coordinate with department managers to monitor inventory levels, reorder points, and projected demand to prevent shortages and minimize excess.

·      Work closely with Receiving/Quality to resolve issues related to nonconformance, damaged goods, incorrect shipments, and supplier credits/returns.

Compliance, Confidentiality & Safety

·      Maintain strict confidentiality of all customers and company information, including drawings, specifications, pricing, and proprietary data.

·      Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including purchasing authority controls and ethical procurement practices.
