Residential Support Worker

The Sheltering Tree is currently looking for a dedicated, trustworthy, and energetic Support Worker. Support Workers provide support to adults and youth on a one-to-one basis, or in a team environment, in home and community settings.

Candidates must possess:

  • The ability to build trusting relationships with adults and youth
  • The ability to participate as a part of an interdisciplinary treatment team
  • Effective social skills and able to act as a positive role model for adult and youth
  • The ability to implement an adult programming to help the adult achieve their clinical goals
  • The ability to set limits and expectations while maintaining therapeutic rapport
  • Strong written communication skills, efficient at writing progress notes and reporting
  • Ability to read, understand and follow treatment plans and help clients meet their individual goals
  • Experience working with adult and youth with special needs is an asset

Candidates must have the ability to relate to Indigenous, First Nations, Inuit and Métis (FNIM) youth and have an understanding of the various issues that impact this population.
