Job Summary:
As a Product Owner, you will be part of our Payments' Data Team. You will focus on the ongoing management of Central1's recently launched data hub/platform, which stores and provides insights into Central 1' payment data. As this is a new service at Central 1, you will also play a key role in data onboarding of additional payment products' data, and support Central 1's overall expansion within data and data maturity.

You have a strong understanding of the financial domain and sharp business acumen. You are motivated by solving problems, collaborating with others, and continuously learning.

What you'll be doing:

  • Represent the needs of the business, customers, and users to guide a team in ongoing enhancement of Central 1's data services
  • Key business owner supporting the director of data services in the ongoing management of the data platform, ensuring it meets needs of internal users and clients, while also ensuring it meets data governance and data quality standards
  • Set clear goals and priorities to guide and motivate agile teams
  • Lead business analysis activities relating to product and service modifications/ enhancements and the resolution of production problems
  • Identify options for potential solutions, evaluate the technical and business suitability of each option, and participate in assessing the feasibility and impact of undertaking data projects
  • Develop business cases for modifications or enhancements, summarizing the costs, benefits, and measurable success criteria
  • Participate in presenting proposals and deliverables to management and/or clients and provide input to selecting the best options to meet business and technical needs
  • Provide input to defining project parameters and preparing detailed specifications, use cases, workflows, and other supporting documentation for the development of modifications and enhancements
  • Participate in preparing project plans, timelines and budget; ensuring project deliverables meet stated requirements
  • Create User Stories, manage the Backlog, and effectively plan Sprints
  • Track and oversee the project life cycle from analysis through to deployment, providing project updates to clients and/or internal management, and acting as liaison between technical, operational staff and clients in resolving planning and implementation issues
  • Participate in developing project implementation plans, and overseeing implementations, including quality assurance, testing and any modifications required
  • Write information releases, preparing user manuals and providing training and support to clients with respect to new and enhanced products and services
  • Provide follow-up and support to clients to ensure successful ongoing operation of data services
  • Maintain current knowledge of Central 1's family of products, application functionality and the high level architecture of Central's hosting environment

What you'll have:

  • Communicate effectively with clients and technical teams and adapt quickly to changing priorities and business needs
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of business analysis principles, methodologies, tools, and techniques, plus a good understanding of data and a product line or business process
  • Ability to analyze and document business and technical requirements, and coordinate a variety of projects through to completion
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with developing, designing and documenting business processes based on industry-standard methodologies, tools and best practices
  • Hold a university degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or other related disciplines (or equivalent)

Salary range:
$90,000-$105,000

The salary range represents the job rate determined for the successful candidate who is fully competent in the role. The actual salary will vary depending on market conditions and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
