Resource Worker

We are looking for a dedicated Resource Worker to join our clinical team. Reporting to the Placement and Resource Supervisor, you will support assigned Foster Homes as they provide care to children in our program. This role requires strong multitasking skills, experience with ministry requirements for children in care, and an understanding of Plans of Care and documentation. You must be confident navigating conflict, overcoming obstacles, and providing creative support to foster homes and individuals in crisis. Strong administrative and communication skills are required, with a minimum of 3 years of direct experience.
Responsibilities:
Foster Home Support
- Provide ongoing support to Foster Home caregivers, participating in their annual performance review where appropriate. Assisting the home with understanding and following policies.
- Monthly check-ins at a minimum with Foster Homes to ensure open communication and supportive environment.
- Trouble shooting any challenges that a home may be experiencing with the youth.
Child Support
- Attend all new placements to meet and review Caithkin policies and programs and ensure documentation obtained and signed.
- Regular follow-up to ensure meetings, appointments, access are completed and documenting all correspondence with client.
- Consult with local schools, community partners to identify and register for appropriate programming.
- Collaborate with treatment team to arrange supports for client to meet goals and be successful.
- Manage and distribute Incident Reports and Serious Occurrences as required.
Ministry Contact and Administration
- Regular contact with supporting Children's Aid Society workers to ensure all requirements are met
- Completing Plan of Cares and submitting them in the required timeframe.
- Complete all documentation required and forwarding them to Office Administrative Staff for filing.
- Reviewing the Caithkin database to ensure that accurate and up to date information is available.
- Attend weekly clinical or team meetings.
Requirements:
- Social Work (or equivalent degree) or Child & Youth Work (or equivalent diploma).
- Minimum 3 years' experience working with children in care, in a clinical and/or administrative role or providing case management.
- Experience completing Plan of Cares, school programming and Individualized Education Plans.
- Strong counselling/de-escalation skills required.
- Proficient computer skills needed in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Full Ontario G Driver's License, insurance and personal vehicle.
- Standard First Aid CPR level C Certificate preferred, training upon hire available.
- Ability to achieve Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Certificate Upon hire.
- Valid Broad Record Police Check.
