Ira McDonald Construction
is seeking a
Junior Project Manager
to support the delivery of large-scale institutional, commercial, and industrial projects. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside seasoned professionals on
high-impact projects
across Hamilton and surrounding areas.

At IMC, we believe strong projects are built by strong teams. As a Junior Project Manager, you'll play a key supporting role in planning, coordination, and execution, gaining valuable experience while contributing to meaningful work.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers and Superintendents in overseeing project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and documentation.
  • Help track project progress, identify risks or delays, and contribute to problem-solving discussions.
  • Support the preparation of billings, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and meeting minutes.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Attend project meetings and assist in maintaining clear and accurate communication with all stakeholders.
  • Ensure project documentation and compliance align with drawings, specifications, and safety standards.
  • Participate in tendering and procurement processes alongside the estimating team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Post Secondary education in architectural technology, engineering or equivalent
  • 5+ Years Project Coordinator/Assistant Project Manager experience, in the ICI sector
  • Good knowledge of construction scopes and activities, scheduling and project management software.
  • Familiarity with construction project lifecycles and basic understanding of ICI sectors.
  • Have a good understanding of construction contracts, in particular CCDC documents.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Enthusiasm to learn, take initiative, and grow in a supportive team environment.
  • Experienced with construction software - Procore and Bluebeam.
  • Willingness to work from our
    Hamilton office
    and visit project sites as required.
